One SIM, one platform, one partner across continents for GoMetro
GoMetro is a telematics intelligence platform for electric commercial fleets (buses and trucks) that CommsCloud keeps connected across borders and continents on a single multi-IMSI SIM and one management platform, so high-fidelity vehicle data keeps streaming without swapping providers between countries.
The challenge
GoMetro's platform ingests over four million data points per vehicle per day: per-second battery, thermal, driver-behaviour and safety telemetry. That demands low latency, no connectivity gaps across borders, and SIM management that works the same in every region, from a UK electric-bus estate to a cross-border African fleet running South Africa → Botswana → Mozambique. A single-operator SIM can't hold that together across borders, and juggling a provider per country doesn't scale.
What CommsCloud did
Cloud Connect multi-IMSI SIMs with global low-latency packet gateways, so a device keeps reporting as it moves between networks and across borders. One management platform for real-time SIM visibility and control across the whole estate. And hands-on device onboarding, firmware tuning and geo-redundant SIM sync: the operations work that keeps high-data telematics such as dashcams and tyre-pressure monitoring online without reconfiguring devices market by market.
The result
One SKU, one platform, one partner across continents. Scalable global expansion, high-fidelity real-time telematics, and cost-effective high-data use, without reconfiguring devices or swapping providers between countries. Live across six countries today, with the fleet expanding.
In their words
"The low latency that we have experienced using the CommsCloud SIMs has been exceptional. The priorities that we required were low latency and ease of management, and it has both of them."
Francois Snyders, Head of IoT, GoMetro
"Having a partner that can give you enterprise-level service and advice when you are a startup is invaluable… It's a real launchpad for success."
Justin Coetzee, CEO, GoMetro
FAQ
Common questions
What connectivity does GoMetro use across borders?
GoMetro runs on CommsCloud Cloud Connect multi-IMSI SIMs, which carry several network profiles on one SIM and switch automatically as vehicles cross borders, so telematics keeps streaming without a provider swap per country.
How does CommsCloud handle high-data telematics workloads?
Global low-latency packet gateways plus device onboarding and firmware tuning keep high-data workloads such as dashcams and tyre-pressure monitoring online without reconfiguring devices in each market.
Can one platform manage a fleet across multiple countries?
Yes. A single connectivity management platform gives real-time SIM visibility and control across the whole estate: one SKU, one platform, one partner across continents.
